Free Fruit Trees
Abundance in our neighborhoods leads to thriving communities.
Creating an abundant urban landscape is something we build together as neighbors and community members. One of the greatest opportunities we have sits right outside our front doors: the parking strip, that small stretch of land between the sidewalk and the street. These spaces can become oases of shared abundance, strengthening food security and the social fabric of our neighborhoods.
If you agree to plant, prune, and care for a fruit tree on your parking strip and to openly welcome neighbors to share in the harvest, we’ll provide up to one free fruit tree and a second very discounted tree to get you started (while supplies last). When fresh, delicious food becomes common and accessible on every block, the scarcity mindset begins to dissolve. We remember that generosity is something we can practice every day.
Our goal is simple: to help grow free, delicious food for everyone in Portland.
