• Dan Sloan

    Executive Director

    Dan works with Portland Placemaking Coalition and founded PFFI in 2022 with the intention of developing public-facing community-stewarded food forests in underserved areas of urban Portland. He owns Oregon Food Forest LLC and is a permaculture designer and consultant (empowering homeowners to transition their lawns into abundant food-producing perennial ecosystems), fruit tree pruner, nut tree propagator, and advocate of urban foraging. Dan has spent the last 3 years visiting large-scale rural and smaller urban agroforestry sites around the world researching applicable techniques that can be applied and adapted to the Pacific Northwest.

  • Kendall Jones

    President & Treasurer

    Kendall is a professional ceramic artist and retired Spanish teacher. Her interest in food forestry comes from a deep resect and curiosity of all things natural including plant medicine, our relationship with the Earth, and land tending. Working to encourage the community’s development of relationship with land-base and other-than-human inhabitants is key to a sustainable future.

  • Christina Davidson

    Board Vice President

    Christina is registered nurse and holds a strong passion for public health, particularly in ensuring access to nutrient-rich foods to address the increasing public health challenges. Through her firsthand experience, she has witnessed the impacts of the Standard American Diet and acknowledges the importance of publicly available food forests as a critical element in fostering a healthier and more content population.

  • Trisha Kent

    Secretary

    Trish has worked in natural resource management, renewable energy, and plant pathology. They spent seven years in Mexico working with the CONANP and other Latin American organizations to develop local capacity in environmental conservation, climate change adaptation, sustainability, and gender equity.
