Sandy Meadow Restoration
Sandy clear cut meadow restoration
This site was clear cut and graded, removing pretty much all above-ground life. We decided that the best course of action was to stabilize the soil and put living roots back in the ground to reestablish a primary succession ecosystem while the homeowner decided how they wanted to plant the area with a long-term vision. We broadcast a mix of 19 species of grains, legumes, and perennial flowers, raked and rolled them in. It’s wonderful to see it rehabilitating slowly and to see the wildlife that has returned.
