Nut Tree Nursery

Food Security For Generations

Propagating long-lived nut trees such as chestnut, walnut, hickory, and hazelnut is an important part of our mission. These trees, when planted in publicly accessible spaces provide generations of sustenance for humans and wildlife. “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”

We have 3 nursery sites where we’ve been propagating nut tree seedlings for our food forests, urban canopy, and upcoming public food forest plantings. This project is funded private donors and by East Multnomah Soil and Water Conservation District.
